Paper quilling arrived in India as a modernized handicraft in the late 20th centur?y. Indian artisans quickly embraced the medium, pairing the technique with the country's rich history of paper? crafts, making it their own. In this class?, traditional artist and artisan Ajita Shah ?w?ill teach you how to create a variety of beautiful and unusual earrings out of paper quills.

Co-sponsored by the Folklife Center of Northern New Jersey. This program? supports the Paved With Promise?: Immigration and Cultural Heritage exhibition commemorating the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act which opened up the United States to groups in Asia, South America and other areas that had been previously restricted.
