Visit  Longwood Gardens famous for its superb grounds that include elaborate fountains, lakes, meadows, woodlands, and 20 outdoor formal and informal gardens as well as a conservatory.  Start your visit with The Longwood Story Tour, where you will explore the seasonal highlights of Longwood's diverse gardens while learning about the heritage and horticultural excellence. Enjoy the story of how one man's vision turned Longwood into one of the great gardens of the world.  After lunch on your own, spend the remainder of your visit strolling the gardens.

This trip will take you down the Hackensack River, the entire length of Newark Bay to Staten Island and back to explore this integral part of New York Harbor. Among other sights, we will pass Kearny Point, the former site of Federal Shipbuilding & Drydock Co., where hundreds of warships, Liberty and Victory ships were built during the Second World War; and the busy port facilities of Ports Newark and Elizabeth with ocean-going cargo vessels being loaded and unloaded. On the way back upriver we explore the Bayonne bayshore, home to numerous parks and historic sites.

Immerse yourself in the world of  the Rockefellers as you spend the morning visiting Kykuit, home to four generations of the family.  A guided tour through the main floor of the mansion with its fine furnishings, art and family  memorabilia includes a visit to the subterranean art  galleries.  See a series of dramatically terraced gardens featuring masterpieces of 20th century sculpture and panoramic views of the Hudson River.  A box lunch at Philipsburg Manor will be followed by a tour of this early 18th-century house,  grist-mill and farm. Costumed guides will talk about the Anglo-Dutch Philipse family and the history of Northern Slavery.  The day will end with a visit to Union Church, a charming stone country church that contains stained glass windows by Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall, commissioned by members of the Rockefeller family.
