Montclair Township recently passed legislation to allow the construction of Auxiliary Dwelling Units (ADUs), free-standing structures that can be used as mother-in-law suites, additional living and working spaces, or rental properties. Laszlo Kiss, an internationally known architect who participated in Montclair Aging in Place's recent symposium on ADUs, will explain the different kinds of ADUs, which structures are best-suited to each purpose, and sketch out homeowners' responsibilities under the new law.
