ClassGraphic Planting trees is a great way to beautify our public and private spaces and also offers amazing environmental and social benefits. In this session of Living Green, you'll learn all about sequestering carbon with trees, which species thrive in and give back most to our local ecosystem, and when to plant. You'll also get news about the Township's recent receipt of a grant to plant trees on public land and places you can volunteer to help with planting such as the NJ Tree Foundation, the Brookdale Park Conservancy, Northeast Earth Coalition, and Montclair Community Farms.

Participants will include
Lisa Johnson, Montclair Township's environmental affairs coordinator
Meredith Pichini of the NJ Tree Foundation
Eve Cooke of the Environmental Defense Fund, formerly with the Sourland Conservancy in Hopewell, NJ

Living Green is the Adult School's popular free series for environmentally-minded consumers. This session is co-presented by Montclair Township, Montclair Climate Action and the NJ Tree Foundation.
