Introduction to Islamic Design - An illustrated overview of the history of the Islamic world and arts as developed in the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa over centuries, with an emphasis on the “Golden Age” and Spanish empire that lasted from the 13th to the 17th centuries, and a brief look at the modern world of Arabic and Islamic design, architecture, and even graffiti; followed by a hands-on art class focusing on recreating one intricate geometric design, using only a compass and straightedge (just like the classical masters!).
