Do you like novels that are “based on a true story?” The instructor spent 11 years researching and writing ORIANA, a novel about Oriana Fallaci, one of the greatest journalists of the 20th century. She will show how to take a true event or real person and write a novel around them. In this stand-alone session we'll cover: narrowing down your story to a one-sentence description; researching; balancing truth and fiction; finding the universal story; and propelling readers forward.
We recommend that you read "Oriana" by Anastasia Rubis for this course. Copies will be available for purchase at the class.
