Intro to Basic Soap Making

CourseGraphic This predominately demonstration class will show you step-by-step how to make a batch of cold process soap. Learn a brief history of soap, safety tips and practices, how to properly handle lye, the basic chemical process of soap, how to customize wet soap with color, fragrance and additives. Finally, options for molding and what to do with your soap after it saponifies (chemically changes to soap).

Please read:  A materials fee of $20 is due upon registration. Students will take home soap from class to cure at home. Please bring an apron or wear old clothes to class.
