ClassGraphic Have you always wanted to run or walk a 5K but didn't know how to begin training? Maybe you are nervous or don't want to do it alone? Maybe you have had a hard time sticking to a training program in the past? If you answered "Yes" to any of the above, our iconic beginner program is perfect for you.

Often the first step is the hardest. The camaraderie of a group and experience of your coaches and mentors is great support toward healthier habits and lifestyle. This program is designed for people just starting a walking/running routine for the first time, restarting after a winter hiatus and those who want to run faster or longer. In 8 weeks, meeting twice a week, our fun, unintimidating program will help you walk, walk-run or run across the finish line at the Fitzgerald 5k Lager Run in June.

Note: The first session is for Orientation and meets at the Montclair Public Library - Main Branch

Please read:  Early bird discount ends on March 13. ORIENTATION DATE IS APRIL 14 AT 6:30PM at Montclair Public Library - Main Branch. TRAINING DATES: April 18 - June 10, 2025, Saturdays at 7:30am (beginning April 18th) and Wednesdays at 6:30pm (beginning April 22) **All training sessions meet at Anderson Park Saturdays, 7:30am; Saturday, April 18 at Anderson Park Wednesdays, 6:30pm; April 22, Anderson Park GOAL EVENT Fitzgerald 5K Lager Run Early June 2026, 5:30pm Race registration not included in program registration Program participants will receive a discount code for the 5k Lager Run
