The Noodle Road: From Asia to Europe to America - Talk and Tasting NEW
ID :
47706
« back to classes page
The event highlights an engaging food experience that explores how noodles have traveled across continents and connected cultures throughout history. Led by nutrition professionals, this session blends food history, hands-on learning, and delicious tasting.
We will watch a short video, followed by a lecture and an interactive talk covering the story of noodles—where they originated, how noodle-making traditions spread along ancient trade routes, and how Eastern and Western noodle styles influenced each other. You will also discover different kinds of noodles from around the world and learn what makes each type unique.
Next, we will discuss how noodles can be a nutritious choice by sharing tips on making healthier noodle-based meals, what to look for when choosing noodles (such as whole grains, ingredients, and sodium content), and how to balance noodles with vegetables and proteins. The event will conclude with a live cooking demonstration of Korean hand-pulled noodles and fresh pasta made from scratch, followed by a tasting. Ingredient lists will be provided on the day to ensure the safety of participants with food allergies or sensitivities.
