After emancipation Black artists and other cultural figures sought to craft new and uplifting models for African American identity.  Join lecturer Onnie Strother as we examine how Black artists from the 19th century through the Harlem Renaissance to the Black Art Movement of the 1960s and 1970s to the present day found inspiration in the spirituality, history, mysticism, and symbolic language of ancient Egypt and its art.
