Cultural Communication: The Unwritten Rules NEW

ID : 46065
« back to classes page
ClassGraphic A wild romp through fashion, sociology, a bit of history, and fun, exploring our social contract and archetypes of personalities.
Class 1 – Before you have even spoken to a person, chances are you already know lots about him or her.  How is this possible?  We all live by rules of dress we have never written down or read, but they are rules nonetheless - voluntarily but strictly enforced through our social contract.  In our class, we will explore our human culture from way back when (a few thousand years) to see what made us behave this way today.
Class 2 – Cultural Communication in Entertainment Through Archetypes of Personality
How do we immediately understand a character’s type of personality in a movie, before we even hear them speak?  Simple!  They give it away through their clothing, hair and makeup.  Every film uses characters chosen from an unspoken list familiar to all of us in our society.  We will watch videos of the best of them.
