CourseGraphic In this lecture we'll explore the physical and social context of ancient Athenian tragedies and comedies, with an emphasis on how the plays were actually performed by actors and received by audiences, including discussion of religious festivals, the all-amateur Choruses, music, dance, spectacle, the structure and poetry of the plays, and the physical theater spaces.
