« back to classes page
ClassGraphic How Music Works is about breaking down the elements of music and understanding how the songs we listen to every day are put together, by studying iconic music by Mozart, Beethoven, The Beatles, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson and more. We will discuss melody, harmony, rhythm, form, texture and focus on how these elements are essential to how music works using examples from different genres and time periods in western music.  Classes will also study instrument families and their common combinations to gain an understanding of how to analyze the sounds we hear in music.
