We are always looking for new courses and instructors. If you have an idea for a class, lecture, or workshop, please complete the instructor proposal form below and click the
"submit" button.

We run two terms each year and we generally plan about 6-8 months in advance. Terms run for 10 weeks, early October to early December and early March to early May. Classes meet from 1 to 10 times. Most classes meet between 7 and 10pm on Monday or Tuesday evenings at Montclair High School, but we also offer some daytime and weekend programs at other sites in the community. 42,000 catalogs are distributed each term and the complete catalog is online as well.

To be considered for the spring semester, please submit a completed proposal by September 30; decisions will be finalized in early November. For the fall semester, submit proposals by April 1; decisions will be finalized in May.

Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of the Adult School of Montclair. There is an active group of Adult School supporters, but new volunteers are always needed. We would like to broaden our base, so that we better represent the diverse talents and interests of the Montclair community.

Work at the Adult School is varied and can accommodate any schedule. There are opportunities to work during the day in the Adult School office, at school during evening classes, at various locations in the community or at home. While you are doing what you enjoy, you can be assured that your energies are contributing to an organization that has built and served a dynamic community for almost 75 years!
